Really impressed with the STR XACT laser height tool
So Dave Z and I have been dialing in his 28 Doug Wright and we thought we were on track. Between us we have owned, rigged and setup about 25 cats. Dave was told to buy the STR (Shaun Torrente) Laser tool to set the engine height on this very height sensitive hull. I am embarrassed to say we were off on our heights prior to using this tool. A digital protractor/level also helped to find dead nuts neutral trim and then used the laser tool to adjust the height. In my opinion the digital protractor is very important vs a bubble level on the hull and prop shaft to find neutral. This hull really liked both engines set exactly the same. We spent all day today going up down 1/8" at a time for speed and handling. My days of measuring tape and straight edge are done.

I agree, its amazing what true toe, height, and trim do when motors are spread apart due to a big tunnel.

digital level for leveling engine/boat to each other is the best thing ever made. After I bought one I got the boat on the garage floor and with the bubble level I got them to what appeared to be level. Got the new digital level out and calibrated it. Set it on the pad, then on the engine and was about 3* off. So I put it back on the pad and had someone adjust the tongue to zero on the gauge then adjusted trim to the same and market my trim gauge appropriately. Awesome tool to have! No input on the Torrente tool here, but the other one mentioned is worth every penny.

The digital protractor or level makes things so much easier. Shauns tool works as described. Plus a great guy to do business with.
