    Lightweight Crank Merc 2.5

I would guess there has been volumes of information on lightening 2.5 cranks.

Can someone please direct me to the appropriate post/s about this.

Looking for extreme lightweight information. Also, resources for doing it if you know anyone.

    Thank you in advance.

I wanted to do the same thing.... on a 3.4.....Real heavy crank. A job for the Pros.... heat up slow cool than machine.... balance then re heat/ harden.....on a 2.5.... don't think it will matter much..... a 3.4 crank=2 2.5 cranks. My end goal was to get the balance more into the center of the motor..... rather than 2 heavy counter weights at the far ends....Just to be more Rev friendly......and kind to the main bearings...…..

I believe Dave Eden at Marine Crankshaft Repair of California offers a super-expensive lightweight crank.

    He is a good guy.__PRESENT
