Bad stator and switch box question 2.5l 150
I have a 96 mariner 2.5l 150 efi. I followed the merc manual to troubleshoot down to bad stator. One ohm reading is lower then spec. I have a spare parts engine that I also double checked readings to see if it all matched up and it did except for low reading on stator. I'm going to switch stators, should i also switch the inner switch box also because that was the side that has the bad readings? Is there a way to test switch box to make sure it is good. I read that faulty switchbox could damage stator. Or do I replace stator and repeat troubleshooting process before firing engine to verify everything is good? Btw i ohmed the trigger also it checked good. Thanks for any help.
