Josh, I am retired union electrician by trade. Ask away if you have questions. Do you know what size service you want there? 100 amps? More? Less?

I installed 8' LED strip lights for my boss' workshop. They put out amazing light. At first, I wasnt thinking they would be any good. I was taking down 8' HO 2 tube striplights. They were much brighter.....and whiter. Now if they go bad, you have to put a whole new panel in. But its been 4 years now, and I installed 40 plus fixtures, and only one is acting up now.

    LED costs? beans............for electricity.

For now I'll just be pulling power over from my existing shed. I'll just have to work out what fixtures I can afford and go from there. Eventually I'd like to run new service to the shop but that will have to wait. Just not in the budget right now.

I completely understand. You can only do what you can do. The led lights aren't any more expensive than t8 strips in case you thought they were expensive............definitely cheaper than t5's.

Still a lot of work to do to get power over there. A friend of mine gave me a new meter box, weather head, junction box, and enough wire to get my own service set up. Just need to check with the power company to make sure I can get it done...

...Man!...That's it?! THAT was fast! you don't mess around. times two on going with the LED fixtures, no matter which version you choose, as they use sooo little juice, you can easily double-up on the quantity & still not tax a circuit....

Good stuff Josh!! You may have to get a permit pulled, and you may just have to install one receptacle and a couple of temporary pull chains(or switched keyless fixtures). But they should be able to put a service there. Happy for ya!! Thats gotta be a good feeling!!!

Who is the company? I've been looking at a building for storage. It is built with square tubing and the tin is run sideways just like that.

Safeguard Metal Buildings out of Troy, TX. Two guys came out at 7:00 AM and were done in about 12 hours. It will definitely serve my purpose. The main annoyance is that the roll up doors have a storage building type latch on the outside instead of the "kick locks" on the inside at the bottom. Also the walk door is a cheap thin mobile home type unit. Doubt I'll have trouble being as it's in my back yard but It's not a setup I would feel comfortable about being secure if it was at a remote location!

So what's the footprint......looks like 18 x 25? Thats a decent size. I know you want bigger. But your pad didnt look that big!! I thought it was 16 square. Ya know, you can always change that door out when the right time arises.

Been super busy trying to get everything lined up. Hopefully my dumpster will be here on Monday, I have a lot of cleaning up to do to get everything out of my shed. It has turned into a rat's nest (literally). I have to get that area turned into an office with a desk, two chairs, internet access, a computer, a phone line in the company name answered 9-5 Mon-Fri, etc in order to qualify for my dealer license.

I think I have a game plan sorted out for my cars but I really need the license in order to conduct business effectively! Getting my boat accounts set back up also, my first mail at the new address was my Pro Marine catalogs!

Well, I picked up some cheap HF lights today, "Braun 10,000 Lumens Shop Lights." They're linkable (up to 4) and I have 4 cross beams in my roof so...

    Lights on!

It's a dramatic difference, we'll see how the lighting is on the sides at night, hopefully the white inside walls will reflect down. Honestly it's better than I expected so far. They were about $65/each I think.

Having trouble with my septic now, my yard guy busted the conduit where it feeds into the outside unit (aerobic system) and shorted the main power. I fixed that but there is still no power feed from the house, the breaker doesn't trip anymore though. I' running it on an extension cord temporarily and the aerator pump runs, sprinkler pump runs, alarm light is on. Always something. I'm going to have to run a new permanent power wire out there from the house...
