The one advertised above, which I bought, is an XR6 case with a Bob’s Bigfoot nose cone and (reportedly) cutdown SM 2:1 gears. It has a used billet carrier installed.
It also had a slow leak on the side that was seeping oil from under the epoxy, which I discovered - luckily before I installed it on my boat - was due to cracked welding on the side. In short, the case was junk, unless someone can pull it apart and weld it up properly. I have an agreement with the vendor that he would replace the case, which he kept putting off due to him being too busy servicing other customers, and now he won’t respond to emails.
So, good luck to you if you decide to purchase from this vendor.
Here’s some pics of what it looked like after I pulled the epoxy bubble off the side of it:

Yep, that makes two of us. I thought I had an agreement to settle this matter but the man has gone incommunicado on me. Between overseas UPS shipping ($760) and then 27% import tax on the unit, I have ~$5,000 invested in something that I can’t use except for spare parts.

Thats not an xr6 case it's a 2 liter xr2 case small bullet. When there busted or cracked and welded on the side like that they always re crack just to thin on the sides.
I may be slow but im ahead of you. *hit's only ankle deep but you went in head first.

Then it’s even worse than I thought. Isn’t the XR6 also a small (4.25”) dia. Case?

Yes it is xr6 is small case and so is xr2 late 80's case. You can tell from the rear slots above the cav plate xr6 would have anodes on the side. 4 3/4 large case, small 4 1/4 case.

Thanks for pointing that out. I did not know that. I take it that the XR2s are weaker than the XR6s then?
Seems like I really got ripped. The oil was also full of (non-magnetic) gunk, but he claimed that was a moly additive that he used. I’m really starting to get p!ssed with this guy now. He recently responded to my emails after several weeks and said that he’s still trying to find me another case that’s not cracked, because the last three that he located were cracked. I’m starting to wonder if it’s him or me that’s cracked. At some point I’m just going to sue him.

Although they did make a 4 3/4 dia xr6 i assume you thought you were buying the small case lower with sporty internals as a high performance gearcase.
