...hope it will be self-bailing with a payload(full of fuel, water, gear, multiple people, twin engines, etc.), or its worthless...

my personal opinion about self bailing is this...

because I don't really fish much, I only have to worry about rain water and sea water coming into the boat thus I won't need a self-bailing boat

I personally wouldn't mind if that water would just empty into the bilge and have the bilge pumps do the rest.

I normally carry extra batteries and high volume bilge pumps.

If I overload my boat, I don't want a self-bailing cockpit because if the exit holes are below the water line due to being overloaded, would cause sea water to enter from those exit holes...I don't want that

I really feel more secure with non-self-bailing boats in the 24 foot size....just my personal preference

My 21 Superboat center console is supposed to be self bailing. Problem is, the drain is 3" BELOW the water line. Almost sunk it first time out!

I deleted the self bailing on my 18 whaler as well. Something about having water around my feet on my sea dek that just doesn't feel right.

Mine was "SELF-SINKING" I launched it and parked the truck. By the time I got back to the boat it was 1" from going down
