Is 220 hp not a reasonable number for a lowly 2.5? Don't understand the hate for the FF engines.

I think they like to sh*t on anything that gets popular.
220 may be shooting it short on power estimate on a well setup FF engine, I'd love to bolt mine to a dyno and see what it's really making it runs so damn hard.
the EE and FF blocks are pretty similar aren't they, chest size being the main or only difference in them?

Look guys. There is nothing wrong with an FF. What annoys me is this latest trend to enshrine it on Mount Mercury and to add a $1000 price premium when one is for sale. It's just a good block. It is not magical. I'm sorry if some feelings got hurt cause we didn't agree that your stuff is incredibly superior. I should have known better.

The porting measures different on ee sleeve than a ff sleeve and of course the chest. That is from my machinists thats done a million of all of em (exaggeration)
To the op
yes the ee dosent get enuff credit. Depending on application the ee will out perform the ff. Visa versa the application. The ee runs good. The ff has same porting as promax and same chest. Which work better on lighter boats but like has been said. I've heard few people say they rather have ee. Sometimes people want them to b what they r not , but if your tryin to build a hi rpm motor then the ff has a good head start.
