I am the guy with the 2020 long deck 2400 with the 300R. As the poster above said, I was expecting the 300R to accelerate close to the 400R. It was not even close, nor was the top speed. I think the 450R is an awesome motor but for the price difference between a 400R and a 450R I would take the 400R. If money was no object then anyone would take the 450R, but if you figure 50K for the 2400 and 60K for the 450R, you have a $110K 24 ft Pulsare. You can buy a Tuff 24 with a 300R for that money and run slightly over 100 mph.

The OP was asking about twin 300R on a 28 V hull vs single 450R, in that case it's a no brainer for the twins, more power, more stability, and about the same money.

The 300R puts out 328 HP, it's a beast. On a 24 pulsare, the 450R is going to be disappointing, for the money, I bet, it's just not a super fast hull. Great boat though.

You will have less power (450 vs 600) but I agree, unless you were going offshore a lot, the lower weight, less maintenance, less fuel, for the same money would make sense unless all out top speed was a major factor.

Does to me too. Never heard of Phantom before.
We get a pretty good chop here. How would this boat handle rougher water as compared to my Superboat 24 CC?

I love a single too. Looking forward to seeing more big V8 single and twin setups. Most 28-30 hulls need twins but there are a few exceptions obviously. As the boat gets bigger, the advanteges of twins become more apparent.

That Phantom is awesome for sure.
