    XR2001 New Bottom vs Old

Hope i have this posted in the right spot. What can you guys tell me about the old vs new bottom on an Allison XR2001? I am deciding between two boats. The new bottom boat is twice as expensive as the old. Is the new bottom going to impress me enough to spend the extra money? This boat will be drag raced at the pro stock level, 800 feet.

At least in DSRA, if you didn't have the new bottom, you didn't need to be there. On the river, you might not know it. Beside another boat in 800, get the new one. Others will surely chime in. Good luck and be safe.

That's a big difference. Running attitude is flat and fast. Lot less V on the hull.

Interesting - didn't know they changed it. Anyone know what year they made the changes and what the differences were ?

2001 is what I am told was when the year changed. Sounds like I need to pony up a lil more money for the new bottom. The new bottom hull I am looking at is lighter as well.

I am pretty sure I saw the difference at the Lake Butler drags, the Carolina team's boat was fearsome.
