Stepped Fountain
What were/are the pros/cons of the stepped Fountain vs their conventional hulls? There is a thread about a triple outboard conversion elsewhere. I thought ?I saw a post saying that the conventional hull was overall better

the fountain triple outboard conversion is my boat im currently doing. the stepped hulls power for power are about 5 mph faster on the top end are a little bit more efficient, but dont like to cruise slower speeds. the 10 meter and 12 meter hulls are easier to do the conversion because they dont have the molded in swim platform. the older non-step hulls have more wood and glass than newer hulls and from what ive seen, seem to have less rot issues than newer hulls. i would love to find a newer step bottom 47 fountain stripped and hang quad flashed 350 verados on.
