06 23 Fountain with twins who here has had one and what did you do to it.

So, i bought an 06 23 Fountain with twin 175's. I have yet to play around with it because of motors issues, but the couple minutes I was running it I noticed that you have very little trim available before loss of water pressure. The motors are all the way down can't go any lower. From the bottom with a straight edge the water level is almost but not quite 1/4 of the way up on the lower unit water inlets without trim. Anyone have any experience playing with one that could save me sometime. Just wondering if anyone put offset brackets, i know low water pickups will help. Also seemed like the props bravo I 22P had more slippage then I'm use to. Only 40 mph at 4000 Rpm's. Again i have only a couple minutes and this is, I realize it's a little premature but i anyone has played with one it could save me $$$$ going the right direction.

Assuming these are Mercs, for starters, you can add the little water scoops to get more water into your pickups. Cheap, simple, and they work. You will probably want setback brackets of 12-14" to get your motors back and up, too. You might consider hull mounted water pickups if needed
