U should b able to run spacer if u have no air box. I can't get ur pics to work. I run a spacer under stock 2.5 cowl. Are you running a 91 motor?

Yes he has a 91 7 petal motor.

Spacer should fit, with that 7 petal setup I'd want the RPM's up, 6k is pretty low...

the wh-20 carb bole will hit the bottom cowl moved that for up and the boat want stand any more rpm at 60-65 its (depending on water and wind) out of control bad chime walking 1.87 gear with 25p four blade furry puts it out of the water and out of control but its a fun ride ....i like fooling around with it ... Just hit 100 hrs on the motor

6000 rpm, 1.87 gear, 25 pitch prop, 65 mph is 14% slip. At that low a speed it should be hooked up better. That would bring the rev's down even further. Two ways to go, more prop for higher speed or less prop to get rpms up at low speed...

What does your steering look like? Older Champ should have Teleflex dual racks. Probably needs new cables and the slack adjusted out. If you've already gone hydraulic maybe needs bled. Those old Champs are usually heavy and fly well if you have enough power. Probably just needs work on setup...

You might have to lose the velocity stacks.

Merc, could you tell a difference with your spacer?

good question on the spacer on difference ..... velocity stacks may make more power than the 1 inch spacer

I built the motor with the spacer and stuffers, but I can say the spacer gonna give more power than the stacks my new motor won't have a spacer or stuffers tho. Also its correct that u can't run spacer and stacks
