Sounds like Jack has become a victim of his own success and has a big backlog of boats to build. That’s good for him though, since he’s one of the few people who are keeping the lightweight 2-stroke outboard boat market alive.

That NTV is pretty though. Love that colour scheme. Is that an exact STV copy?

Kind of bull**** jack pays for the molds, does all the work, answers all the phone calls, deals with all of everyone’s BS, and someone like this guy in Havasu or the Lightning people in Bradenton just come and rip off the design..
I know I wouldn’t buy one, nice paint job or not.. try getting same resale as a true FTP STV river rocket or euro

Josh when I spoke to Jack in January he was suggesting orders for August then - there is a reason he is busy . So he is probably built out for the year and projecting - 21 delivery now . I would be patient and place an order for the new year if you can . Order exactly what you want , sit back and wait - I know it' difficult but probably the smart move . Or buy a used hull of his . As far as selling a knock off - everyone steps back hard as far as value .
Jack is just far too knowledgeble of a builder /owner / to not use period . And you deal with him personally . .

Jack has the mold for the river rocket....the original. If it doesn’t have the indents on the top of the sponsons, or the steps on the cap back by the transom, then it came out of a mold popped off boat (look close at the lightning and the extreme boats)

The NTV that the guys in havasu are making came from mike nass in canada and were payed for. He had the ski bottom molds as well as his own mods. They are really nice and i wouldn't look down on them like i would a lightning, not even in the same league imo. Jacks boats are killer, and being that i am on the east coast, if i was ever to buy a new one id go to jack.

I put a deposit on my Euro in mid- 2009 with a November/ December expected delivery date. When the fall came around I told Jack I was in no rush as I didnt want to tow it north in the winter with snow, ice and gravel roads. Long story short it was a spring build and Frank Mole towed it to Maine on June 20th - Fathers Day - "Daddy has a new toy"
Like stated above... I got what I wanted. Only thing I would have done different is a Strongback Trailer.Last edited by 4Speed; 08-12-2020 at 07:26 PM.

the whole "if it's not a jack boat it's inferior" thing is absurd. I don't know about the quality of the lightning boats or others so I can't comment on those, I do know Jack's are great. That said, just because someone else with a set of molds builds a boat, doesn't inherently make it inferior if they know what they are doing (i.e. Nass in the past.)
People celebrate some guys on this forum as "gurus and legends" that never came up with a design of their own and spent an entire lifetime popping hulls and selling their version.... the hypocrisy here is over the top.
