    2.4 efi ?

    2.4 ran up only to 4000 rpm on plane then cleared and ran fine after that

    Because it's a twin engine and the other motor ran past 4000 and the other motor stayed at 4000

    What ECU's are on them? Try switching g ECU's on motors and see if the problem moves with them.

    If they are the original ecus they are probably analog with an external tpi. Like i mentioned try switching them.
