Mechanical trim indicator issue
Just bought a 30ft cat with 300 promaxes. I noticed the trim indicators weren’t working. I’m not too familiar with these mechanical trim indicators but this is a pic of the full down position
And here is the full up position
Cable moves freely when I do it by hand but when u trim up and down it doesn’t register at all on the indicators. Anybody familiar with these that can lend a helping hand? Thanks for any help

Looks like a jury rig, most everything is mounted in the wrong place.
Transom mount is mounted in the wrong place, cable mounted on wrong side without swivel.
Start Google image searching and see if you can piece together how it's supposed to be.

Looks like the wrong mounting bracket. I think you need the Z bracket. Doubt moving the cable is going to do any good. There is quite a bit of adjustment between the cable mounting & the nylon giude location but I dont think youre going to get there with that bracket. RR

Geezzz Mr. That's a nice sending unit ya's got there …
BTW .. Da hurricane wuz only up to S. Carolina yesterday ..
Speed , yes , the cable goes on the inside . I think you will find some "excess" cable sticking out of the gauge side . If you loosen it at the top , it should give you enough cable to start "adjusting" the unit.
Put the bottom on the sponson level with the ground. Then level the propshaft.
If your gauge goes from 1 - 10 , adjust the cable so it reads 5 at this point.
Bump it up and down a few time , bring it back to 5 and see if the prop shafts are level again. If not , it should only need small adjustments , from there to get them in sync ..
Also , oil or graphite lube the cables .. them not sticking is a big part of them having read consistently …

...the morse 33-C red jacket cables do not like anything that approaches a tight radius. if thats what those are. they are a solid stainless core cable and the ends can kink easily if installed out of alignment at all, which bends them & ruins them. i have a large collection of stainless cores from them that work great for rigging snakes, plumbing snakes, etc. "accuator" hardware is at the outboard, drive, or trim tab. 'indicator" is at the helm.

Our tech staff , after closer examination has determined the direction's for installation were not followed . Where it states , both 1/4" x 20 bolts should be installed using Merc 4-stroke oil .. and brought to finger tight .. and then three full turns .. your's were found to be turned 6 turns , after tight ..
However … $90.00 … Hummmm , how bout a $4.99 lunch special at Flanigans and we'll call it even ..

All kidding aside , your roller wheel bracket needs to be lengthened at the red line. That way you can move the wheel closer to the middle of the slot and have you bellcrank arm down on the roller side and 90% to the cable . Vnemous's is installed correctly .. Follow that , and yours will work .
Chaz = not bein there - guessing , one inch should do it ..
Warning objects on screen may appear to be farther than they really are ..

Actually , from looking at this angle . Your belcrank and roller brackets are not square with each other. I'll bet if you unbolt the roller bracket , move the inside bolt hole to the outside threaded hole. Drill and tap a new outside threaded hole , so the bracket rolls around the corner , act's as if it's longer , and puts your brackets in better alignment …
That's my story … and I'm stickin wiff it ..

As I was laying in bed last night I remembered I had a trailer pin on the motor that I use while trailering which you can see in the picture. It was preventing the motor from going to the full down position. Removed that and motors now have full down range and the indicator works perfect now. Thanks to everyone for the help.
