    20" Offshore MID-Section Exhaust ports?

    Hi,

I'm curious on how the upper exhaust relief ports on a 20" offshore midsection, are connected to the exhaust system. This is for a 2.5L 260hp setup.
I'm just about to install a 2.5L exhaust adapter on my 20" midsection, and can't see how these ports are connected to the rest of the exhaust system.
Seems like the exh.adapter flange are covering the ports entirely, and the only way the ports are exposed are through the bolt holes for the steering wing plate.
How are these intended to be exposed? Are there some midsections that have drilled holes through the exhaust channels from inside of the driveshaft housing?

I'm attaching some photos of my equipment (*.pdf) and a very simple paint sketch, for illustrating what i'm asking about

Yeah, I'll attach some photos. But it's pretty hard to get a good look at the points that i'm asking about.
That's why i tried to illustrate it with some mspaint magic

No sure a 1 piece plate uses the reliefs. On a 2 piece plate the exhaust is routed thru channels tween the halves.

IM with rock on that. im looking at a mid that had a 2pc plate. there are holes in the housing. as you show in the lower right pic. dont see why you couldnt drill holes thru, creating the reliefs.
