Brand new 1996 checkmate 186 pulse
Testing the waters on my checkmate I just picked up. This boat is brand new never seen water. Never had the gas tank filled. An older gentleman bought the boat back in 1996 and never even put the motor on the back of the boat. It was trailered to his house in queens ,NY and it has sat in the garage ever since. His intentions were to bring it home to his home country of Greece but the gentleman is getting sick and times have changed. Long story short. I picked up the boat. Washed the 20 year old dust off and the boat looks like it rolled right off the showroom floor. Haven’t done much research yet but to my knowledge is the only checkmate hull that has never seen water and been in storage since new. It’s simply impossible to find. My friends compare it to someone who bought a Chevrolet Corvette and had it bubble wrapped for 30 years. The engine on the back is a 150 mariner 2 stroke. I mounted the motor filled up the tanks and the engine started right up. It was never even broken in ! The boat is a time capsule from the 90s. I am in no rush to sell it and had intentions of keeping it for awhile. Just listing to see if there’s any die hard checkmate fans out there that would be interested and admire this piece of history as much as I do. I have all original paperwork and sales receipts from 1996 as well. Boat is located on long island NY. 30k

Welcome to the board and good luck with the sale. As a person who flips boats I can tell you this is a rare find. But I doubt you'll see a buyer anywhere near $30k. Hope I'm wrong. Bump for a nice piece

May want to change the never seen water as the 1st photo looks like the boat is in the water, just a observation.
Looks to be in awesome condition. Like Trace F3 said, I hope you get your price.
I had a Baja 186 which is very similar to the Checkmate and with a 2.0/ 150 HP Mercury, hydraulic jack, reeds, tuner and with a modified tempest it was a stable 66-68 MPH boat.
