    1984 inline 6 115 HP Enricher valve

I have a 1984 Mercury inline 6, 115. It has always been a bear to start cold. After warmed up starts in 1/2 turn of key. My question is about the enricher valve. The button to manually open it. Does that go on the top or bottom.

mine is on top and I can hear a click when I push I on key. I think it is upside down though. I have seen a couple of pictures of the button being on the bottom. Mine is definitely on top. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Primer bulb squeeze to firm.

Check lines are clear to and from valve?

Ign key switch push in at start position live to valve?

If so , crank engine with system primed and note fuel coming out of line from valve solenoid?

If I were you, I would start another thread in the Technical Discussion section, and I would also include a picture of what you are referring to. There are a bunch of people on this site that are very familiar with the motor you are asking about, but they might not pay much attention to this section as it is for completely different (newer) motors.

    Just my $.02 Good Luck!!!
