Cowl & Pan options 99 Merc 2.5 EFI

Looking to see that options are available to replace the "HEAVY" cowl on a 99 Merc 2.5 EFI motor while I've got the motor apart for rebuild, what else fits as a replacement cowl and pan.

    Thanks

    Gary

any 2.4/2.5 lightweight cowl will work on your motor. you'll need a promax/260 exhaust divider that mounts the coils directly on it like a 2.4 did. you'll also need a promax regulator bracket if you stick with 40 amp charging.

    Alien style

Factory cowls are plastic, factory alien cowls have a duct inside and the upper scoops are functional. Aftermarket cowls are mostly fiberglass, some carbon, usually without ducts and in various levels of quality. Most styles are currently reproduced.
