2019 3.6L Honda BF250 20" as new
I am putting this up to get some feelers if anyone has interest in a 2019 20" Honda 3.6L BF250 V-Tech. The motor is a 2019 less then 10 hours but is being used so the clock is going up. Controls, harness, hyd. steering ram, and propeller are included. There is 5 years of warranty that started 8/21/2020 when I picked it up from the dealer. It is equipped with (IST) "fly by wire", has bluetooth engine monitoring capability, instant text and or e-mail warnings along with real time monitoring, past tracking history, location and speed recording, Variable valve train technology, lean cruise, 86 octane capability, Honda's "Blast" system- "under hard acceleration it automatically increases fuel and takes timing up to the knock sensor (better fuel=more advance) for additional power". It currently pushes my 27' tritoon to 53 mph (best so far). The motor is typical Honda (Very quite and Very smooth). It has lots of torque but I am thinking I would like to have a couple hundred horsepower upgrade. I am not going to give it away but I will make someone a good deal. $15,800 with everything included (I have all new Honda gauges that will go with it as well).
Let me know if you have any interest-
Joe

I had the motor sold but buyer had a change of plans. The motor will be off of the boat and ready to ship by mid September.

I was going to but I did a lot of research and talked at length with a guy that has rigged 4 of them (like mine) with 450s, and has rigged 17 of them (like mine) with 400Rs and has rigged 3 (like mine) with 300Rs. I ordered a 300R (I think I can get within 4 or 5 mph of a 450) and it will be respectable "its not a 450 but it has more torque then the 400R for almost all of its power curve, has a knock sensor, features the lean burn fuel option like the honda for cruising, will run on junk fuel like the honda, has a HD case with taller gears, and its built by the guys that like in WI.
There is no question that this Honda motor is refined "like every honda product" but I am just a Mercury guy and love the sound of the V8. I also don't know how happy the honda gear case will be once I put a Porta Bracket on the toon and start running height with it "you can go up a good bit with set back and still have decent efficiency". There is a lot of drag that can be removed from the toon as well depending how much time and money I want to dedicate to it (it will never be fast but it has to be respectable among its piers).
Like everything, it will be a learning project and if it doesn't make me smile then I am pretty sure that a second 300R will--
