Hydrostream viper 12" mid build, with t2x and v6 power

Greg has been asking me for awhile to put up some pics of the new build I'm doing, 1978 hydrostream viper, apricot boat. I recored the boat using divinicel, and a mix of carbon fiber and 1708, with epoxy. Click image for larger version.

So the original gel clear was bad on the boat, someone shot automotive clear on it making it even more difficult to fix. West Marine sells a paint stripper that is gel coat safe, basically apply it, let it sit, and use a plastic scraper to remove it. Worked well. Then I washed the whole boat, scuffed it with a scotchbrite pad, and reshot it in awlcraft clearClick image for larger version.

So this boat will have hydraulic steering, but wanted to be able to use the original rideguide wheel. My friend Tyler from muscleboats actually had a brand new rideguide wheel, with the original decal, so I adapted the rideguide wheel to fit the seastar hydraulic helmClick image for larger version.

So I picked up a t2x for the hydrostream, supposedly made 180-200 hp. Crankshaft was damaged, so I sent it out to have it repaired. Currently everything is cleaned and painted, had to bore 2 cylinders oversize in it, and was able to find a couple of nos 1350 pistons for it, as they don't have the scallop on the crown. Just need the time to assemble it. I'll keep updating this post as I have time, have a bunch more pics of everything that had to be machined and made. Click image for larger version.

Originally I was just going to run an adi 115, and the t2x, so I picked up an inline 15" mid. Original tiller arm wouldn't clear the bottom carb on the t2x, and I didn't want the old style external trim rams down either side, and I wanted seastar pro steering. So I picked up a 3 cylinder Merc integral power trim clamp bracket, and basically mated the 15" midsection to the integral bracket, and made up a new tiller arm that cleared the bottom carb, and allowed the use of hydraulic steering. That whole project is done, then I came across the 12" midClick image for larger version.

Thanks pat, I've been chipping away at it for the past 2 years, only way it's going to get done is if I come up with a boat run I want to take it to. I'm thinking the November Suwannee run should be it. Work and life always gets in the way. How is the eliminator coming along?

Attachment 470212 so these are generic pics I have in my phone, but I have a t2x tuner/adapter and an f1 tuner for the v6 part. I basically would've made my own tuner for the 15" project

So I marked on the seat bench where my holes come through, drilled it out with a 2" holesaw in the bench, taped the bottom closed, and filled the holes with a blended mix of epoxy and chopped fibers.
