    Alternator on V/6 OMC

Does anyone make a kit or have a picture of a rear mount or side mount alternator on a v/6 Johnson/ Evinrude?

I don't think anyone has made a kit for a stock flywheel, most are mounted in the back from a plate bolted where the regulator normally mounts..

add the pulley to any stock 35amp flywheel then you just need to mount your alternator

Those are pretty big in diameter you would have to run a fairly large pulley on the alternator to keep the rpm down, the small 90mm nippondenso alternator are rated at around 15000 rpm max so you will need less than a 3to1 ratio. That would make it easy..

Advantage for me..... Safety.... I'm afraid of turning a stock flywheel over 7K. I'm trying to convert from carbs to efi.... Need a flywheel, trigger wheel, pulley and a charging system. I'm open to suggestion.

Well way back when the F1 v8 cfi engine had a race wheel and an alternator that they said was 35 amp?
Not many of them around, the race wheel was black, stator had 4 charge coils, its just what you need.

I would be making my own flywheel, I think Jeff Dunn was doing it by cutting the the hub from a stocker and using the ring gear.
    He made the rest.

You may also want to contact Frank Jackson, an OMC enthusiast on here. He has run external alternators with EFI systems for many years with a pulley system he made, the same idea as H2O but attached to an OMC Gold flywheel.
