Needing carrier for 40 hp 4cyl

Need rear carrier for 4 cyl 40 merc with the small 3 inch carrier

Thanks for the help Dutch!! Unfortunately I’m still looking, needing the older 4 cyl style that uses the spanner nut to retain it.

What year....?

Supposedly a’91, but tag is missing and I don’t have a clue where I could find it on the p/h. It’s the 4 cyl crossflow, with the type carrier retained by a plastic spanner nut instead of the external two nuts. It’s also the smaller diameter carrier that’s approx 3 inches diameter.

Dave, sent ya a PM awhile back. The carrier I got dimensions are all correct except for the propshaft bearing diameter, new carrier is smaller. Best I can tell, all the small 4 cylinder propshafts where the same. Question is can I get a different bearing and make this one work, or do I need to keep looking for another carrier?
