1974 HYDROSTREAM VECTOR I with 1500 Inline 6
BOAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE BOAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Fully recored/transom etc. restored kept as much originality as possible, original rare boss moss gel but deck got wet sanded and two part cleared. Most of interior vinyl is original, new seat wood all around but I saved two seat bottoms with initials on them, I assume from factory employee. Motor is just as good no stone unturned, it’s a 20 inch but with all the XS goodies and power tilt/trim, sits right on the transom top, has period correct top hat kill switch with extra covers. no speed tricks if not available in 74. I got concerned there would be none of these left as Howard first imagined it, so I resisted the urge to V6 and jackplate it....that was the right thing to do. Kids these days need to see the early years of hot boating just as it was. The Vector is timeless. I refuse to be the one to break this up so please don’t ask me to. About 10 years ago I started with a garage queen that needed the usual Hydrostream core. 1500 in line/ ride guide/ quicksilver from day one, the motor Howard designed it for, its just beautiful. I had Vectors in the day I know the flaws and weaknesses to tend to during resto. Trailer isn’t pretty but, solid, my focus was boat/ motor. I’m a vintage boat guy this takes first in their shows, also voted as the boat everyone would take home if they could. Got tons of rare stream paraphernalia to go with it catalog, slalom ski, banner, color chart, frisbee etc. accumulated over the years. Also have extra windshield with frame and emblem. I’ve got 1500 stuff to keep this running for decades, and a bunch of props 2 each 26 and 28 choppers 24 Laser none reworked boat runs 70 with the Laser and the 26. It does a tick over 73 with the 28 but with this one you better know how to handle a pad v. I’ve got 7 boats in my yard and have to trim the heard, selling anything is painful but I got to start somewhere. Let me know questions way to much to get into here but you get the idea. I’ve had my time with it as to what all this is worth... frankly no clue....it’s unusual in its originality... not looking to retire on it. Plenty in the northeast who go to the no name sacandaga romp or the ct river run have seen it so ask around. One can easily add up 9000 in parts if separated let’s talk if interested. Pic of boat at speed going to the left was taken July 12th, turn key.Last edited by 63g3; 07-30-2020 at 11:37 AM.

Very nice Vector. I had two of them in the late 70's and early 80's.

Love it. Had the same one with a 115. So much fun. GLWS.

Amazing -- beautiful boat. Gotta love a Vector with the 'tower of power'. Must be very difficult to part with this one.

Awesome boat, Boss Moss is probably the most coveted gel scheme ever, and that is an outstanding example.
