You can do a drop cylinder test, but even that doesn't always show up. If you know of another good running 250, swap the coils. It will take 10-15 minutes

Buy one new coil and swap it from cylinder to cylinder. It will take you less then an hour to try it at all locations.

    Cheapest and easiest solution.

So I got up to take a leak a lil bit ago . I figgert I turn the light on so I didn't bizz all over the floor before I heard water splashing .
Same principle applies here … hope and poke might hit it the first time , or add to the frustration level …

500+ hours and 16 years young , ain't exactly fresh , but still my favorite piece to start with ..

How much fuel pressure does it have ? It has a shrader valve , use a tire gauge .
Under 40 psi and it prob needs a kit in the pulse pump .. A bad one will cause the hi-pres pump to cavitate , over 45 and the little screen under the regulator is clogged .
Are all the plugs black as my bathroom with the lights off .. ?

    Load test the battery . ? Dead cell . ? Alternator putting out 14.5 volts @ 50 amps .?

Is one plug black ? The rest cinnamon .. strike that .. the rest look like they are firing ?

Before you insist it's a CDM (coil) .. test them . One black plug could be a CDM . The Motorola is a high dwell spark .. so it could even be the guy before the black plug ..
    Easy to test … Left to Right A B C D E .. >

All three temp sensors are the same .. temp on left / ohms on right .. check at ambient temp and either heat or put an ice cube on the heads / plenum, if it moves , it's good ...

crank trigger eye usually is either good or bad , but check it anyway .

Make sure the TPS makes the full sweep within spec ...

Check the MAP sensor and pull it our and shoot some brake clean in the little hole , shake it out .. maybe do it a couple times if oil is drippin out of it ..

Old azz plug wires .. ? I buy the spiral core 8mm house brand from Jegs . they even gotz em in your boat color ... I miss my 21' Superboat ..

    FWIW .. I like NGK BR8HS plugs .. gapped to .028 - .030 Don't buy the -10 at the end .. they are gapped @ .040 / 1.0mm .. well .03937 .. way to much ..

    Dayum~id .. now I gotta go bizz again ...

Thank you for the input everyone, We figured out why she was going slow. It was a stretched throttle cable. Just replaced it now I am back in the low 70's with a full tank.
