If all of motor checks out, gotta be setup. Prop not giving enough lift to reduce drag Enough to spin up to rpm/speed it should with the 23 pitch or heavier than it should be. It’s got to get out of the water to go. From what I see the dry weight minus motor should be approx 1375 lbs and should turn a 23 around 5600 with one person. High slip numbers all point to set up/ weight/ hull problems

Laser I had for 1 run. Slipped like crazy , i gained almost 10mph when i swapped props then. I was able run plate higher and slip went down. I was amazed and try steer people away from the laser2. But I'm sure theres a rig sumwere that likes that prop. idk

Here are the pics from when i measured. Was awhile ago and cant give specifics. There is also pic of where mounting hole is. I have check the serial number and codes on the motor and carbs to try and confirm it is a 150, it all checks out. So unless im missing something or wrong jets were put in i think its correct. If i need to measure again i can np

looks like it is same as it would look straight from BPS, never touched!.. they rig 'em typically low when bolted straight to tha transom.. no jack plate is real disadvantage when trying ta enhance any kinda performance... think no JP and tha Laser are tha biggest contributing factor for its lack luster performance.. jmo.

    try this:

start with boat "bottom at pad" (approx. last two feet) level, motor level, on level ground, drive or whatever.. measure from ground to bottom of "pad".. measure from ground to prop shaft "center line".. ideal starting point will be approx. 3 1/2" difference.... without a jack plate getting there can be a little bit of a chore....

So from what i understand this is where i should be measuring. My driveway is not the straightest but damn. That measures 23.5 and propshaft measure 14. Somethings not right. It just blows my mind how multiple people with same setup even the laser 2 get 55 loaded all day long and when the boat was tested not by bass pro and not touch, it was the way it comes out of the box it hit 63.

every boat is gonna set up different, don't care what tha so called "experts" have ta say.. you might have one that won't runn 55 with a 225 ProMax on it.. a lot more so with whats called a "cookie cutter" produced boat..... jmo.

Ok yes thats where i first measured the last 2 feet thing screwed me up. It measures 16. So 2inch difference. One other thing i noticed today which may be worth noting. Just a slight amount of trim can get me up to 42mph and then the rest which is alot only got me to 44 usually 45 but had more weight today than usual, will hit 38 with no trim. thx again for the help

Not exactly buried deep, try a hole up for kicks, make sure it's getting enough water. Must weigh more than you think.

So if usually runs 45 and u got 44 with little more weight. Sounds me like u just forgot to use trim 1st time when u thought was a problem?

Check the wires, coils etc . Motor should be around 170hp. 45mph isn't it.

Maybe some tired reeds? How's it idle, spitting much out the carbs?
