    1985 Merc 200 2.4L w oil injection

This engine has 80 hours or less (original, not rebuilt). Block is completely stock except for solid motor mounts. The oil injection is intact and functions as it should. The engine runs perfectly. Compression is as follows (cold): #1-120psi #2-121psi #3-121psi #4-122psi #5-121psi #6-120psi

This engine pushed my 17' powercat 90 mph but it was kind sketchy how I had it set up, so I'm doing some major reworking to the boat and building a 15" motor.

Engine is located in Cali 94572 and is on a pallet ready to ship or pick up. $3500 + ship unless you are broke like me but can make a reasonable offer.

Steal of a deal, GLWS! I don't know why the pictures do that sometimes, happens to most of us. A select few know how to fix it...

I didn't think it was a steal of a deal...maybe I should've asked more. But whatever, I'm just trying to fund the 15" engine build...and someone will get a nice 200 I know that.

Those old motors are getting harder and harder to find in good shape. That one has a coned lower unit and seems to be in good shape. By the time you buy a junk one and refurbish it and cone the lower you could just be done and bolt one on for about the same money...

I think it is a fair price for what it is. I am the second owner and I know the entire history on the engine. The lower has been replaced (and only has like 3 runs on it). It has a single ram trim, runs perfectly, and everything is in good shape on the engine. Even the airbox, flywheel cover and all that plastic stuff still looks good. This engine is still available for sale $3500 plus shipping cost. And yes, I will strap it down better to the pallet before it ships.

The original lower had a bob's cone on it and I have since sold it, that is why it has the stock (new) lower on it now

...just realized something. 1985 200's did not come with the single ram trim clamp bracket. must be a couple years older than that. but thats o.k., does'nt really matter...just say'n...its an observation. still nice.

1987 is when they switched from single to the integral trim, so yes, a 1985 did come with a single ram trim, as did a 1986

...here's the 1985 mercury outboard brochure opened to a V-6. it was the first year of the intregal trim on the V-6's. It was the transitional year, so if yours was/is an early serial number 1985, its very possible it came with what yours has, the h.d. single ram. like i said no big deal really, as i would actually rather have the single ram. thats just me. trim aside, that is one great motor...
