200-300 hp range future buy 20-22ft sob
I'm over the io big hp world. Keep getting kicked when down.
I'm trying to stay positive and think to a future boat and power. I think it's back to the ob world for me.
I'm looking for reliable good HP, bang for the buck too. I am not rich, so new is out for the question. I like 2 stroke stuff. Personally I like the Evinrude g2. Seems like they are coming down in price on the used market. But still expensive.
What's a good engine to look for? Say 10k range. That works well for a 20-22 sob v hull

I’d be looking for the newest 300xs with a sporty lower that I could find in my price range. For $10,000 and some careful shopping and cash in hand. I think 2008 -2010 with a few hundred hours on it is possible. Might even get controls, oil tank and gauges included. If the market where you live is higher than that then look for a 250xs.

What he said.....I would add 1 - 2k on top of that 10k and wait for a nice 300xs. I have been seeing decent ones more and more. You dont need a sportmaster, a torquemaster will work fine. Try to get one with the offshore midsection if you boat in rough water. I would stay away from the etecs for more reasons than one.....
