Neither would I, but with that nose I would break out the sawzall. For shore landings, you might as well just have a runabout if you're going to cap the nose like that.

Your bayliner, which model is it? They had a few 19-20' br. The pic I posted is the higher freeboard 25" transom with built in setback. Just saying but if you hogged it clean and cored the sides and running surface with new strings and bulks and made sure the transom was solid it would be a good finished project with new interior etc. Some had a wrap around rear seat, some just two seats on either side of the well, some with the sundeck access and a bench. The high freeboard version is a good package, put some modern touches in the helm and power up. They are good in 2' chop.

My Grandsport is now 22 years old and I pound it unmercifully at least once or twice a week, but still people always confuse it with a new boat. I have done continuous improvements to my Bimini top and it will now stay in place at 80 MPH. I can tell you how well built the A boats are but they require a "100 HP" Pilot or else they are a handful above 85.

Yep, find an old Allison. Dont take much motor to go fast.
Option 2 . Find an old bass boat hull, and trick it out like you want?
