    Wiseco's in a chrome bore 200

So I just toasted #6 piston in my 90 V200 2.4 carb merc. Pulled the heads and found wiseco pistons in every hole. One is .010 over and has a sleeve. Compression is strong on all holes. Motor always ran great. I'm tearing it down to send block to James for a sleeve.

So everybody on here talks about how much wiseco pistons suck. Why is that? Mine have been just fine for 8+ years. These are 3102's if it matters.

I'm planning to put rings on the 5 and a new one in 6. Then break it in like a new motor. Thoughts guys?

Follow what James says, if he is doing your machine work. If it's Mr. P, he knows what he's doing.

    X2 follow what James says..
When I talked to James he said there's a reason they're called seizco... But seriously I had them in my old motors and they were run hard for over 15 years and never had a problem w the pistons.,(Reed stops that's another story..lol) I think the problem people have is not installing or prepping block right or not breaking in.and they're to tight?. And end up w that mess
Have vertex in my new motors.

James dont use weiscos , so idk exactly what he will say or do , but whatever it is do what he says. With few slugs already runnin lean. I wouldnt doubt it if u had sum loose pins in the "gud holes"

But to answer ur question, they need alot of clearance to not stick and pins would fall out pretty quick , but if ur only runnin em 5800 or so mite not b as bad

6500 is probably about Max. He saw the number and said these were the newer ones and were better than the previous gen ones. I always let it get heat in the mota before I ever get in it. Thanks guys
