25’ Checkmate Convincor IO
‘1995 Checkmate Convincor w/a Merc 454 Magnum and Bravo One drive.
Cleanest example I have ever seen and this is my 4th Checkmate.
We bought this a yr ago at Kunkels Marine in Mansfield.
If you know Checkmates, you know them.
Jason Kunkel told me that in the 4+ decades they’ve been a Checkmate dealer, he thought this era were the best built boats of all.
I remember being in their shop yrs back and they had a 27’ Fountain in on trade that they kept as a sales aid.
Had it and a Convincor side by side.
You could stand in the cockpit of either one and look out over their front decks and see the difference and it was astounding!
On this one, they went through boat, motor, drive and trailer before listing it.
We bought it to get us on the water after my wife got sick of me working on the restoration/conversion of our second 25’ Convincor.
I wanted something turn key and ready.
Inside climate controlled stored while they had it and in my climate controlled shop since then.
We weekend on our cuddies and have spent 3 weekends on it, all 3 on Lake Erie.
For a 25’ boat, this thing is a beast on the big lake and being a flat transom boat it is huge for a 25'!
A 25' w/the normal Euro style platform is actually only a 23' hull.
Far from the cheapest 25’ Checkmate around and here’s why.
Biggest added value is the near new, '2017 Evolution trailer.
It is half the value on our loan and insurance policy, equal to boat in value.
Lender and insurer both approved this.
We like to tow and after owning many junk trailers I fell in love w/this one. Also a beast.
Secondly is canvas. We weekend on our boats so canvas is huge.
Trailer:
4 x 8 welded alum channel!
Would easily accept a 30’ boat.
16” tires instead of the standard 14’s which doubles capacity and as new.
Stainless disc brakes on all 4 wheels.
It will stop my truck!
LED lights.
Back up lights which I’ve never seen on a boat trailer.
Alloy wheels, including the spare.
Tool box on tongue.
Steps w/handle to bow.
Trailer guides w/lights.
At 80 you don’t know the boats behind you.
The boat:
Hull, deck glass work would pass as new.
Cockpit interior as new including vinyl on sun lounge. Zero fading.
Cuddy as new and one of the best appointed you will find in this size.
Storage locker w/2 drawers, sink w/pressure water, storage above.
Two opposing settee’s.
Privacy curtain for vee birth.
Most comfortable birth I’ve slept on.
Mood lights, spots etc.
Two bow hatches w/screen for excellent breeze for sleeping.
*edit*
I loaded a picture of a craze in the gel coat, just forward of the wind screen.
This is in reply to the idiot that just hung up on me for listing it “as new” when it has this “defect”.
This is not from damage, this was how the gel set up in the mold.
The only blemish on this 25 yr old boat.
(Ugh)
Helm:
Racing throttles
Trim on wheel
Dash controlled Corsa exhaust
Trim tabs
Tab indicators
Depth finder
New ship to shore radio
Drop down bolsters
Upgraded fiberglass wind screen instead of standard windshield
Motor/drive etc:
700 some hrs on spotless 454 mag
Starts/idled instantly
Appears to have never been apart
Corsa headers
EFI
Corsa drive shower
Oil hasn’t even colored up since Kunkels changed it!
50 psi oil and 150* temp at cruise
Bravo One drive w/remote oil reservoir, also as new and no signs of previous repairs
24” Bravo One 4 blade as new, which the boat/motor loves
Firebouy auto extinguisher system (helps on insurance)
Canvas:
Full mooring cover, good condition
Cockpit cover, Kunkels had made and is new
Bimini, as new
Full enclosure w/windows w/screens, w/zippers, as new.
It even has a zippered rear entry door which is perfect for when backed into dock
That’s $6k plus of canvas
Tons of storage both sides of motor
Boat, in general:
Great on gas and comes w/a full tank.
Last fall we ran from West Harbor to Pelee Island, then back to Middle Bass for the weekend, then back to West Harbor Sunday.
I filled up after that trip and it took 14 gls which is amazing.
Very efficient, very well balanced (power and weight) package.
2 near new batteries w/switch
New, good, 2000 watt inventor for having coffee on the boat
We have carpet runners for on bench seat and cockpit floor
Powered sun lounge w/light
Full swim platform w/ladder and drink holders
Performance:
Idles, handles around dock/ramp like a fishing boat
Full fuel load, weekend/camping equip, 2 adults it pops on plane at 1/4 throttle
Mid range, it wants to do this all day
Acceleration from midrange, very, very strong! And motor sounds like a beast.
Top speed, unknown.
Kunkels guess 65 and I agree but w/our 3 trips all at the big lake, Ive only seen 60 but in 2 - 3’ chop w/tabs down 30% and drive neutral.
I’d guess 65 easy.
Accessories:
Four 3/8” double braided green dock lines
3 bumpers
Anchor, chain and rode
Only selling to allow time for me to finish s home deck/pool project.
If you want a sport cuddy, on an aluminum trailer (for salt water), ready to head to a coast, any coast......, here yah go.
*this boat has never been in salt water*
In case you’re confused like the guy that just hung up on me.
Can run on hose at my shop.
No boat rides w/o cash in hand.
ZERO texts or e-mails due to scammers. I will not return them.
I work from shop (boat repair) in my back yard so am home for showing, all wk, all hrs.
$27,900

I buy and sell a lot of chit and those idiots are everywhere.
This is one gorgeous boat and trailer. If you were in FL it would already be sold. I'd buy it but there's nothing left for me to do to it!\\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\/// \\\///

She's a gem! Love boats that are freshwater survivors in impeccable condition. On top of that all practical upgrades are of highest quality and so well though out. Talk about value for the money, and turn key. GLWS

Thanks!
Sold, pending financing.
Should know for sure tomorrow.
The price requires Someone w/cash or really good credit.
The good for all us is, I almost didn’t buy this boat due to its price.
Was afraid I couldn’t resell which I knew wasn’t far away.
Had 2 calls yesterday and 3 today!
Showing to me, more people willing to pay good money for a nice piece instead of the last 10 yrs of idiots texting you and offer of half, and telling you to call them.
Fk them.
This is really good for us quality boat owners/sellers.
