Ok guys need some guidance ive been talking with my local fiberglass dealer and they cant get anything like divinycell but have lots of balsa I've already decided to use expoxy so no need to talk about that but should I just go with balsa and be sure to seal really well or go with the long and expensive shipping/exchange rate for divinycell

Suggestion: it is getting extremely hard to get disposable gloves for fiberglass work right now due pandemic demand and supply chain issues. I’d start scrounging on nitrile gloves right away.

Looks really good! Yes, 1/2" for the core.
Is there more core forward of that? Seems like a lot of the Hydrostreams have more core below the forward floor. At least mine did.'78 Hydrostream Viking/'98 225 ProMax

The bottom of my V-King broke right there at the end of the core, I would run it forward to a "V" shape, that will distribute the load better!

Nitro rat is right. Do all the core you can now while it's easy. The bow area takes a lot of punishment. Beef it up.

This is where mine had core from the factory and where I put it back. If I do another one I would take it up into the chine anywhere forward of the floor and carry it wider up front(outlined in red). The front edge of the floor seems like a major stress point.

I had an extra bundle of shingles laying around when I did my build. A dozen or so shingles was a nice big, even, heavy, and flexible weight. Bakers parchment paper worked great to separate the shingles from the balsa.
