Hello, I might be interested in your power head, as I recently blew the head-gaskets on my 2.0L Merc. If you still have the motor, I'd like to talk. I'll send you a PM. Thanks! -Philip

This time it was the power head, not the lower unit.
The block was old, and I used some heli-coils on a few of the bolts to hold on the heads.
I also re-used the bolts. I guess that was a mistake, because two the cylinders torched when the head gasket blew, and some of the bolts were loose.
I did torque them down in the right order, using a torque wrench and in three passes per the manual... but the final torque setting was slightly below spec, because when I torqued to spec, that's when the threads in the block stripped.
I've since purchased a saltwater boat and motor for fishing, but this is my fresh water runabout for skiing and fresh water fishing that use up in Massachusetts.

a 2.5L 200 block would be a nice upgrade from the 2.0L 150 I have (or had... not sure if I'll get it re-sleeved. Probably better to look for a new head).
