Thanks for all the help I will keep you posted.
Yes, you're 35 - 45 psi over the stock compression... "approximately" 90-octane probably isn't going to do the job; I would think 93 would be the bare minimum?

Is 150 psi race gas territory? You think I need to do 93 and some of this toleune? Whew! Fishing is going to be expensive now. Lol

I'm sorry, I don't know your motor, but I would think 93 would be to lowest you should go.
You have a knock sensor protecting the engine so the thing to do would probably be to try the 93 and see what your top speed is (assuming it runs ok)... then try higher octane and see if it's faster?
If not then you're not being limited by the knock sensor & low octane... if higher octane improves the top speed they you have to keep going up in octane until you find the sweet spot.

? have you choked off one throttle body at a time to see if the power loss is on all cylinders,or confined to one or two?,Chris

That's the plan. Fuel just seemed like a necessity regardless so I figured I'd handle that while I wait for sunshine.

Don't let your Lucas MMT get exposed to sunshine, it'll break it down. Don't let it sit mixed in a plastic jug without being covered with a solid blanket.
Mix your fuel after the sun goes down.

I work near the water so the boat is coming with me tomorrow. If its not raining I should have some answers later in the day. Just finished refilling the tank with 93. That hurt a bit.

So I've got some news! Got on the water today with fresh 93 and boat did the same thing. 4k and nothing more. I'm by myself so I rigged up a pole with a t-shirt tied on the end to choke off the throttle bodys. I took off the silencer and proceeded to run it back up and notices the vent hose from the foot (previously plugged into the silencer) was spraying water put of it.. more rpm more water. This time without my water injection hose running to the intake it spins up to 4800ish and about 50mph. Also my t-shirt pole was not very helpful in choking cylinders as I saw no change from any of them. I guess I just have to wait until I have someone to help drive while I experiment. Now I have to find out why I have water rushing from the foot too. New sei unit just a few hours out of breakin. Any ideas? Thanks.
