It's my understanding that the thermal "contraction" compresses and thereby aligns the grain structure in the metal. When the part comes back up to temp the aligned grain structure remains. I'm sure that some stress relief occurs as well. It's good stuff all the way around!

Thanks Josh - short and sweet.
Might be a good approach to keep the Lightning ETs from losing pieces of their blades, aside from all the benefits to motor components. Motivates me to ask some of the better engine shops here whether we can do it locally.

Not sure if its been talked bout , but would really like to know limits of a 141 rod? Will a cyro treatment help. What bout crank? What is their limits? Roughly
