We hurt our 2.5 last year testing right before the race and had to run our backup 2.4 that we missed on the porting.
Probably run division VI with a James Perry modified 2.5

Love the rules changes for this year! I feel like it will bring in some new names and bring back some old hard hitters for sure!

I think that was what the rules committee is hoping for. And yes the rules committee is a group of current and past racers and S&F members from different race classes that are TRYING to make it fair and safe. I've been told finding and keeping insurance for this event is challenging and without it there is no event.
Div II which used to be 2L only looks like it could be a popular class and may draw more racers. They lowered the weigh requirements and added more stock power heads to the class.
Div II running in the mid 80's with the correct setup should be fun. I keep hoping to see members east of the west coast team up and put a competitive rig together.

Adding safety cells to the rules was a big thing and I believe it will enhance the Enduro. Also opening up Div II for a bigger variety of power should help the intrant list but I don`t think 80mph will compete.

Bull good to see you active on this post again.
Last year you stated you would be at the 2020 Enduro, I'm holding you to that.
How would this bad boy compete in Div 2.

And yes 80mph ain't going to cut it.
Mid 80's to low 90's depending on the soupy conditions might keep you in the hunt with the attrition rate

Bobby, lets do it! I need to drag Dad out there. He doesn't have many boat racing trips left in him, the parkinson's is progressing a lot quicker than we'd expected. I'm getting him all the 2smoke I can while I can!

How would this rig compete? Well I have a good idea. We tested in Parker for the 7 hr Enduro in 1988 at 107mph with the boat just like you see it in the picture. We ran a 32p Merc cleaver and that was very fast for the stock Mod-VP class that we were running. Not fast enough for the special Modified Mod-VP class that Stoker, Foster and the Boden team were in. I had a better starting possession and about half way down the course all three of them came buzzing by at the same time. If I was at 107 they had to be at 115 or so. Funny thing is that with the now current rule change in Div II our Yamaha boat would be legal LOL. This is why I`m predicting a Div II overall win.

Baker, I`m still planning on going. Got to before I`m to damn old and with the new rules this would be the best year for me to go.

107 in some of those water conditions must of been a handful, I'm sure your setup help alot to getting over it.
Do you remember where you guys ran the prop shaft.
Was the Yamaha heavier and did you have to compensate with a bigger setback for your CG.
Do you think that setup could run the same numbers at a 1/2" below the bottom
