1997 55hp johnson Commercial help

Hey guys! I am trying to find information on a 1997 55HP johnson commercial i am interested in purchasing. I understand that they have lower compression to run low level fuel and that the gear case gearing could be off. It seems the gear case gearing is pretty close to a non-commercial engine. Is that correct?

Are parts able to be interchanged from non-commercial engines?

Can a noncommercial lower be put on the commercial engine?

Is the 55hp commercial a 60hp head with a lower gear case?

Can I put better reeds on the engine for better top end?

Also, what power pack do I need in order to not have a 5800 rpm rev limiter?

Engine is going on a 1648 .100 weldbilt.

Late response but I have same motor and have done some parts number comparing and some of the parts such as electrical, carbs, etc and the lower units are able to be swapped. Unsure on the powerheads but the reeds will help idle and overall performance, the power band will be smoother, not too much top end. You could always snip to the limiter wire. Good luck!
