Even ugly boats need loving once in awhile....
As I sit here waiting for my materials to get here for my Ventura build I figured I’d start another thread. Lots and lots of pics of jaw dropping boats on here, but sometimes a guy has to swallow his pride and get caught with an ugly one. Here’s mine, she’s taken really good care of herself for being 48yrs old but you just can’t drink her pretty. 1971 Beecraft w/1982 35hp crossflow. She gets just as many looks at the launch as my Valero But I don’t have to worry about her leaving me. Let’s see yours

I guess I really didn’t know what to expect. I posted it jokingly, guess it wasn’t interpreted that way.
Obviously I know that every member on this forum has some sweet boats including me. I bought the boat in the pic for the motor only, I planned on putting it on my Jon boat and taking the boat to the scrap yard... well when I pulled the boat into my driveway my kids said dad “what are you doing with another boat” I told them what my plan was. They replied “dad you gotta keep the boat” I said no! “I need another boat like I need a hole in the head” they wouldn’t lay off me for the rest of the day about it. I told them if they help clean it up the next morning I would maybe keep it for now. Well we cleaned it up the next day and I couldn’t believe how clean and simple the boat was. So here I sit with boat #5. The thing has grown on me because it’s so ugly and the kids think it’s cool. Can’t beat that in my book. Oh buy the way my wife hates it. Oh well.

Personally I don' see the ugly - I see it runs and buffed up and your getting an enjoyment from it - what more do you want - cheap runner - hopefullyjust the beginning of the relationship . Be proud - good fun

I think all tri hulls are ugly imo , but if it had any sentimental value or was left down from sumone and still in that good of shape , then it's just not worth disassembling the rig , its worth keeping original, I've got a checkmate that's alot uglier than that (gel coat wise) I think ugly can be either hull shape or gel /paint condition[
You have a very nice old boat and shouldn't b in a ugly thread ,
There is a redneck engineering thread sumwhere that needs be brought back up ,then u see sum ugly boats haha

I didn' realize it was a tri hull , I thought for a minute a couple days ago when I posted - too bad it wasn' a tri , but it is - they are great hulls - never driven one but thought they plane out very nicely and early I thought but like I said - just from a distance seemed to perform well over the similar V hull of the time period .

My ugly boat is the most used one I’ve got.
Goes in the water the day the ice goes out and stays in till the lake freezes....
when I figure out how to post pics I’ll get a few up.......

Come on that's a damn nice boat clean, it looks in really good shape. My first bigger boat was a tri hull had a blast on it. And stable as hell.
Now if it was all beat up ripped seats paint all nasty then you could talk ugly.
I just see different style and use and easier to throw coolers in etc and still see a fun day in the water..LETS GO BRANDON.... LETS GO BRANDON
Sometimes I talk to myself...then we both just laugh and laugh

She tops out with just me in the boat @ 24mph with a 13 pitch and 5450rpms. When I put my 2 boys,me, fishing gear and a cooler she hits about 20mph @ 5300 rpms. I got a 11 pitch to try on it with a load. She’s rated for a 60hp, sucker would rip. Hull is 570lbs. I got everything you see in the pics for $300.00, brand new battery and kicker motor mount. I did have to rebuild the carb but that was cheap.
