Now that you mention it .. I forget where, but I seen one that was a little fella that had a three ram converted to a mini single ram . Looked like it was gonna be light and loud. It was painted blue , crustacean brownish tan and natural aluminum ..
Chaz = thinkin, the last 10% takes up 90% of the time

that midsection actually would have been a good idea for omc to produce back in the day, to fit all their bigger V-motors somehow.

I had a v6 way back on a 8 mid, it actually looks more symmetrical than the crossflow mid they used and had to make the funky adapter for... plus it was produced at the same time the looper v6 came out. Stupid they didnt use it...

What’s the purpose of your creation, Chaz?
1990 Shadow bass boat w/ 2.4 200 Merc. Totally resto'd boat and love it!

H20 :
I had a v6 way back on a 8 mid, it actually looks more symmetrical than the crossflow mid they used and had to make the funky adapter for... plus it was produced at the same time the looper v6 came out. Stupid they didnt use it...Yes , half straight down .. the other half , straight into the water pump area ..
That's a good lookin motor Dave ..
I agree with you guys , it's like they were lookin for an acorn while they already had a pocket full of diamonds ... I love the look , the size and shape . But like Merc , with the 300x can .. Ohh we gotta get rid of this old school stuff ..
First OMC I did , I was told it would be difficult to weld .. might of got lucky , cuz we made friends pretty quick . Like any aluminum , it just needs to be prepped correctly.
Power sez :
plus the exhaust gets a straight shot
Speakin of water , what were they thinking .. the stock tube has to be all of a half inch in diameter .. The 3.0L Merc pump has a three quarter inch exit I.D. so I went with a Delrin bushing at the pump adapter and an O-ringed boss for the seven-eigth's stainless tube to plug into ...
RG ask's :
Whats the purpose of your creation, Chaz? That's above my pay grade , Monty powerhead / 3.0L sportmaster lower . All they ever tell me is : Is it &%$&* done yet <strike></strike>

...or...they could have just made something simpler like this...and sold a lot more offshore...and small boat go-fast stuff. missed opportunity.
