    300promax on paralift?

Picking up a 300 promax to swap the 225 pm on my lavey. Currently has a paralift jackplate on it. Can the paralift handle the 300 promax? Weight rating says 500lbs and I believe a 300pm is between 450-470lbs. I’d like to get a 14” bobs plate but then the boat won’t fit in my garage lol. The paralift is cool because at the height I run it it’s at 12” of setback but all the way up when I store it it’s only 8”s.

    need some opinions

Wildman uses a much different lift, known as Porta Bracket. The Porta Bracket is probably the best on the market and runs in race applications all the time.

Bunger, The Paralift is an old Mercury product and much different. They came in two weight ratings of 450lb and 500lb. I'm not sure I would use the 500lb model with a Promax 300 as I bet if you hung that motor on a meet hook scale it would weigh more than you think. Paralift is a nice little unit, but was designed for 2.5 motors back in the day. If you want to try it out, I'd replace the bolts with new Grade 8. Good luck.

Paralift is a good unit. I have 2. Running 3.0 mercs on them. Porta bracket is twice as strong at least. I have one I got in 2001. Still works perfect.. Paralift has bushings that wear and get sloppy. Porta bushings are very robust to say the least. Don't fail. Paralift in good shape will easily handle a 300.
