Do a little digging and there are some good writeups on this.

Do you already have a BP motor and looking at dropping on a 2.5?

Yep. Blew a hole in bottom . So have a couple of ways to go. The BP 240 hp will be sent to have block repaired . Then its gone . Just need to know what I can bolt up to the lower. Have read a lot but no real clear way to know.

Have not got that far. But after going thru every thing I could find on this subject. Wish I had never got it. Has the 1.87 gears with a factory nose cone . Will use any spacer that will work. Looking at a reman. 2.5 from a guy in SC .

Look up texas20225 on here and pm him. He's in your backyard and builds a great 2.5.

No need to go any farther than ft worth.

I'm sure ur like most round here and wanna save what u can. Heres the thing , u have a 2.4 mid with eye brows for exhaust relief and 2.5 has those plugged with a round hole for exhaust relief, which call for diffrent adapter plates under powerhead , if u use 2.5 adapter plates those exhaust reliefs wont match up , so got you the 2.4 adapter plates (matching) u mite have to make the exhaust dumps in top plate to match the bottom of block , then u just need the correct gaskets for plates and powerhead , I've been runnin mine like this for couple yrs now , bobby (texas) knows what's goin on also , me and him use and used same machine shop guy and that's where I've learned this. If u wanna talk u can pm me and I get u number. If u wanna use the single 1 piece plate then I cant help you. I havent done that
