Put it all back together new gaskets same story. 6 psi at idle on the hose. Verified the gauge. Pressure stays lower with poppet spring cut when I rev it. I guess I should put the new full length one back in? Any other ideas? Runs fine pisses water idled it for 15 minutes never overheated.

maybe I got the wrong water pump in there?

no didn’t have gaskets for it but the poppet dump was wide open. Same the the dump going from t stats to exhaust. I really don’t think I have a clog because I ran it in January it was fine ran it on the hose in March it was fine then ran it after changing the pump and it was way high

I see there’s two different size water pump diameters? Could I have installed the bigger one? It currently has a Sierra 18-3319. I have a aftermarket poppet not a mercury should I put in a mercury? Should I pull the power head again and tear apart the exhaust plate even tho I blew out all of the passages?

You have to split the plates or you have wasted your time. Dumps are in bottom half.

****. So I guess I need to do that all over again..... not sure what to do. I really don’t think it’s plugged up. I don’t run in dirty water. Unless a gasket blew out in that plate not sure how common that is. I can clearly see the poppet open on the gauge I could ramp up the throttle and the psi would bump up to 10 the n drop to 4-5 once the poppet opened.

anyone know the part number for the exhaust plate gasket

Now I’m 100% out of ideas. Do I need to pull the heads? Exhaust divider? Try another water pump?

Pulled exhaust divider. Everything looked perfect. A little more carbon/oil/spot on one side compared to the other. Not sure what that’s about. Anyways I’m out of ideas. Is it possible I have the wrong water pump on there?
