One of you fellas that is trying to help out mentioned "does your water pressure bounce on the gauge?" what is that an indicator of if it is?
Bunger, brother... stay on topic man. You are all over the place worried about compression, plugs etc. Figure out your pressure issue and focus on one thing. Then worry about other crap. If you go messing with a bunch of other stuff all at the same time it is hard to determine anything.

Just resolved my high water pressure issue, was a bad dash gage.

That’s basically what I figured out. Gauge is super sensitive and I happened to get a super spunky new water pump. Boat runs great I’m sure the pressure will get back to normal once the pump wears in a bit

Probably something to definitely check if you buy a used motor and the paint is worn off the skeg and bullet... potentially a lot of beaching as rocks & gravel don't usually float.
