Port matching realistic power gains
Hi everyone,
Haven’t been playing with outboards very long but something that has always made me curious and is hard to find actual data on.
Was just seeing if anyone was happy to share there experience with port matching the sleeves to liners as to how much if any power was gained and measured on a dyno or top speed/rpm. I know there are many variables and depends how bad they are to begin with, but is it worth doing during a rebuild on a social “lake” boat, or only for the racer.
On a 2.5 200 would you expect to see .5 or 5+hp gain?

XR4 is only one i'd even think 'bout doin ona "lake" motor but a little grindin' usually won't get ya there... they are tha worst.... a real stem winder steel sleeve motor is a different deal..... jmo.
