The Aluminum Doctor. He fixed a couple sporties and a few CLE's for me a few years ago. Did a good job and the turn around was relatively quick. Dunno if he is still around down there.

For sum reason I hear sportys goin down alot more often than anything else ??
I can get it so cheap that I think it's worth a shot if case isnt busted or anything , the guy took it to a mechanic long time ago, he said they said , the gears and stuff looked to be in good shape but I dont know anything else. I'll go look and take couple pics after holiday

The Dr has done quite a few for me and always done a good clean job with a reasonable turn around time.

So I ended up getting the sporty , it's a 1.87 straight skeg with built in tab everything looks to b in decent shape. It looks like it just pushed the threads to rear of the case. Anyone seen that b4?

I just came out to look at the threads , and I'm not sure that's the prob. Is this thing missin lock ring and stuff to hold carrier in??
Nothin looks tore up. Looks like its just missin carrier nut. He said last time it was in water ,it didnt wanna go in gear and when he put oil in it he seen carrier move outward, well if it dont have the nut on it then all that makes since , threads r still there
1 more thing , there carrier does not look like it turned at all , keyway still there and locked in ,Last edited by Merc 2.5; 06-14-2020 at 06:59 AM.
