    20' Stoker Sport Tunnel

I have a 1984 20' SST with a 1996 Evinrude 225. I currently have a 25 Shooter and it's running about 71 mph at 6800 RPM. Looking for more MPH but still need the boat to take off with 2 people and a cooler. Currently in process of finding a 27 Shooter but any suggestions would be helpful.

This is my first performance outboard. I had a jet boat that ran 10 second quarter mile through the lights but this is all fun and new for me.

    Thanks!

    Jake

    Love the Stokers.
How big is your set back and is it adjustable.
Do you have low water pickup
The Shooter is a good prop. With the rpms your turning and if your tac is accurate should put you in the 78 to 80 range.
Slip numbers might be a little high. If your in OC I would call Ron Hill to work your Prop.
He might let you test some props too.

Setback is the original Marine Engineering 2" and it is not adjustable. I do not have a low water pickup. Slip number is working out to be 20% which seems high for the little knowledge I know.

I think I will give Ron a call since I am in southern california, thanks for the input!

Bravo 1, promax, tempest plus and big eared choppers will all give some performance.
A lot a factors weight, eng height, keeping water pressure and prop stock or worked on. When does a ski boat Stoker start packing air and break free. You should be able to turn a 26 or a 28p for play. Understand OMC where built for more torque.
Let Ron bang on your Shooter and test it before you start changing your setup.
Alan Stoker has my bother in law running a 24 and a 26 .shooter on his 21 Daytona with a Rud.
