2.5 rigging help!

Hey Guys,

I need some advice this week on whether or not I can use this shifter and hot foot on a 2.5? Also which mercury cables do I need to make them work if so? One of the pics is the current motor end with OMC fittings.

In addition I wanted to ask (because I am hearing a lot of different opinions), what all do I need to plan on modifying if I am dropping a 2.5 FF complete power head on a 260 1 piece adapter plate/offshore mid.

I have tried attaching the pics 25 times and it will not work!!!!

You need the 2 piece adapter that gos with the FF .NOT the 1 piece

I am port matching the FF to the 260 adapter plate. I have heard the rear two studs need to be changed out to longer ones.

the one piece plate will work if you make the necessary modifications required to convert your FF motor to an HP cooling system. There are several of us on here with the same setup. Is it the "perfect" setup for that engine? NO

Does it work? Yes It's all about you, if you treat it right, give it ample warm-up time and stay on top of maintenance you will be alright.
