Sweden has over twice the Covid deaths per thousand as the US. We will know in a couple of years if they had extra deaths or just earlier deaths then the places that locked down. But it’s hard to say the Swedish approach is working with today’s data

Imperial College model Britain used to justify lockdown a 'buggy mess', 'total unreliable', experts claim
The criticisms follow a series of policy turnabouts, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decision to extend the national lockdown. The United States also used the model, which predicted upwards of 2.2 million deaths in the US without proper action. The prediction helped influence the White House to adopt a more serious approach to the pandemic.

I bought a good gun safe before this all came crashing down......put my wife in the safe with a bunch of Twinkies and Covid 95 masks..... she was banging..... let me out..... She settled down a week ago ….. so the advice I got about safe spacing works…...But the bad thing is she had the combination to the safe??????

You mean people have really been staying inside, because some dumb local politician told them too? I guess I missed the memo, and I live in a commie state.

So, the state supreme court tossed Gov. Evers "safe at home" order on May 13... immediately the bars & restaurants (and other businesses) in most parts of the state re-opened. The places I've been are using no masks (customers or staff) and not "social-distancing" with people literally crowded around bar tables yelling at each other over the jukebox music.
I realize it's far from "over" and it could go south for us at any time, but so far there's NO indication that we're any worse off now than under the "lockdown"... mainly (I think) because the lockdowns are so ineffective.
The vertical line is the re-opening date... GREEN line is new positive tests, BLUE line is total Covid-19 deaths... the light blue line shows how many new positives per 1,000 tests (and the orange line is actual deaths that day).
It's only been 8 days but if all this "stay at home" crap was working then I would have at least expected the new positive tests and the new positives per 1000 tests to have started to spike. Instead, the number of new positive tests per 1000 tests is still trending downward; which could be simply due to the testing increasing faster than the actual spread right now, I suppose.

I was watching Louder with Crowder and they made a good point. Usually when you shelter in place/quarantine because of a disease it's only the sick and vulnerable you shelter, not the healthy.
I think Trump didn't have much choice other than to play it safe with the way our media and the democrats live to attack him at every turn.
So I blame China, the media and the democrats. In that order.Last edited by CDave; 05-22-2020 at 05:01 PM.

So, in my travels yesterday evening I passed 2 bars that were open in Michigan. I also recently heard that gov. Nit-Whitner extended the "every-bodies grounded" until June 12th.
Will be sure to see if they are still open tonight. I hope so. Wisconsin has been opened for a little more then a week now, and the doom and gloom has not exploded. Also worth noting that the in person voting was nearly a month ago. The explosion of Chi-knee flu has not happened from that either. But hey, wear your mask, cause, reasons.

The Wisconsin primary with in person voting was over a month ago. The sky has yet to fall from that.
Bars were reopened on the 14th, so the sky should be falling this coming Thursday because of that.
And to think that the local hospital removed it's temporary tent for all the Chi-knee flu patients without even having one person use it. But, we will all be sorry when the sky starts falling.

Still no change (10 days in) in the rate of new infections, positives per 1000 tests, hospitalizations, deaths, etc.

But, but, but if you do not keep small businesses, restaurants, bars and churches closed, wear a mask when out in public, and otherwise isolate yourself from reality, you will be sorry mister.
My tv told me so.
