Pics sideways?

Why do some pics post sideways when the are oriented up on phone/computer..

And how do you adjust so it's upright?

That could be due to how your camera/phone embedded orientation data into the photo. For example, sometimes if you shoot a photo with your phone, if you view it on a computer it will either not read the orientation data or simply default the view to a 'lengthwise' format. The forum here does actually read orientation data, so there could be a discrepancy there. If you can, email me a photo at gterzian@screamandfly.com just as it is on your computer and I'll look at it to see what's up.

Usually just open on a PC, rotate them to "upright" and save them... it must strip out phone's the orientation info.

Auto rotate or portrait option, use auto rotate and hold the phone horizontal when taking pics. It's all part of the new TV aspect ratio conspiracy!

I take all pictures with the phone sideways(landscape). I put the top of the phone to the left. Seems to work well for me.

If taking pics with an iPhone always be sure that the home button is held so that it is on the right hand side if using the landscape mode. Apple chose to save about 5 cents per phone by not integrating some simple fix for this issue.
