Its bad enough these dimwitted demos are trying to close off the country and have us live off govt checks.....Florida has its own set of ramp issues.....there are none! I thought there was a ramp shortage when I lived on Long Island at approximately 2-4 ramps per town. Here, its more like 2-4 per county that the public can use, everything else is private this and private community that....
Apologies for today's rant.....I now drive 52mi each way to labelle to use a ramp here(that is also serious amateur hour all day long)1977 Hydrostream Vector 2.5 Promax

Wow, I’d have thought that such a high brow town like Ft. Myers (just poking a bit of fun) would have dozens of ramps. Here in my decidedly blue collar Volusia county coastal community I count 8 ramps on just the Intercoastal, 4 of those with 4 or more slots. We are short changed on the St. John’s but if you know the area there are a number of small pay ramps that are cheap and not insanely busy.

just a thought but wonder if we tried to get an online petition going to make the Governor aware of the number of voters against this move would make a difference ?

You are crazy, we still have some of the best boating in the country right here. There are 7 sand bars that people go to everyday and some are packed on the weekends. We have 6 waterfront restaurants between the North end of lake Monroe and Astor, There are another 4 between Astor and Platka then you have Green Cove, St. Aug., and Jax.
I have boated a large number of areas in the Midwest and the South--this is some of the best due to the fact you can run over 130 miles and never see the same thing twice, we can run from Astor to Jax. and never hit a no wake zone or speed limit (this alone makes it very exclusive on the list).
Don't be a Debbie Downer please--Life is too short, get a boat and come play.... On top of that the Glen is supposed to be re-opened.

CRAZY ??? my ass. I enjoy people, especially the " fun loving" type. yea riding along looking at trees is amusing but I prefer seeing other like minded enthusiasts to mingle with. besides, the "sandbar's" you refer to are more like "MUD" bars, in the one south of Palatka you sink up to your calves ( maby your waist ) in mud with concrete blocks mixed in. st aug same deal 8" of muck. I'm a social animal, some people have no social skills and just the "hey, look at me gene " . name one good sandbar between astor and jax , NONE
